THANKS!
I already did them, but i want to make sure i’m right.
Please explain to me what you did, when you anwser. I want to make sure i know how you did it. :]
It’s not all of my homework :\. It’s only the ones i had trouble with. And i’m not sure how to check it. I can’t check all of them with a calculator.

Sounds like were doing your homework; every problem…
These problems are able to be check on a calculator if you just turn your fractions into decimals (for most). For the algebra if the equation works backwards, then it is right.
No, if you want to make sure you did them right, check your work.
1. 8&1/5 - 3&4/5
8.2 - 3.8 = 4.4 or 4 2/5
2. 3/4 x 5/2
0.75 x 2.5 = 1.875 or 1 7/8
3. How many 1/2 are in 2/5? (2/5 divided by 1/2)
0.4 / 0.5 = .8 or 4/5
4. 30 divided by d = 0.6
30/d = 0.6
30 = 0.6d
30/6 = 0.6d / 0.6
50 = d
5. Mary wound a garden hose around a circular reel. If the diameter of the reel was 10 inches, how many inches of hose was wound on the first full turn of the reel? Round the answer to the nearest whole inch. (Use 3.14 for pi.)
Circumference = pi x d
= 3.14 x 10 in.
= 31.4 inches
= 31 inches
6. How many square inches are needed to cover a square foot?
7. One centimeter is what fraction of one meter?
1/100
8. Mentally calculate each answer. Describe how you performed each mental calculation.
(a) 6.25 x 10
(b) 6.25 divided by 10
a=62.5
b=.625
9. With one toss of a single number cube, what is the probability of rolling a number less than three?
1/3 or 1:3
10. Compare: (0.8)^2 is greater than, less than, or equal to 0.8
(0.8)^2 > 0.8
11.Nefertiti could pronounce her name in six tenths of a second. At this rate, how many times could she pronounce her name in 15 seconds? (Write and solve a fraction division problem to answer the question.)
6/10 x 15
= 3/5 x 15
= 0.6 x 15
= 9
12. One eighth is equivalent to 12&1/2%. To what percent is three eighths equivalent?
1/8 = .125
3/8 = .125 x 3
= .375 = 38%
13. Mentally calculate the total cost of 10 gallons of gas priced at $1.599 per gallon. Describe the process you used.
$15.99
$1.599 x 10 = $15.99
14. Arrange these three numbers in order from least to greatest:
3/4, the reciprocal of 3/4, 1
3/4, 1, reciprocal of 3/4 (4/3)
15. If P = 2l + 2w, and if l = 4 and w = 3, what does P equal?
P = 2l + 2w
= 2(4) + 2(3)
= 8 + 6
= 14
