I don’t have that problem as I am always buying presents for myself from “Him”. He is not creative at all, so just gives me money to buy my own. Only problem. I hate not having that feeling of a surprise. Christmas is just not the same if you already know what you’re getting.

Even after watching Weird Al’s movie UHF with me, my wife still didn’t like the spatula. No mater what Weird Al says a spatula is not the perfect gift to say I love you.
Two years ago I bough my wife a gps and six months later I got one to use in her car too.
We men have a hard time with remembering our wives not wanting something useful from their husbands. Worse yet she told me she didn’t want anything this year and until now I forgot that means I don’t have to spend over $20 and does not mean I don’t need to buy her anything.

well, i’m not partnered but i was once given a thin blanket, which was okay, but then they told me towels and blankets are the thing to give people to tell them that you DON’T love them. i was devastated. i was going to say giving someone an iron or ironing board, crock pot, vacuum cleaner, dishes, or aftershave would be completely unromantic. actually they would be completely callous and grounds for divorce. being told the gift you were given was chosen to tell you that you are NOT loved tops it though… kinda cruel psycho thing to do i think… and, yes they were serious…

Im not married but i think something like a bread bin or a kettle would be unromantic as it wouldn’t be yours, everyone in the house would use it.

In my case, it was the other way round actually. I bought her beer mugs!!!
